WASHINGTON – Saint Joseph's sophomore lefthander Matt Fitzgibbon was named the Under Armour Atlantic 10 Co-Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday morning.
 
The Yonkers, New York, native struck out seven across three shutout innings of relief to earn the win on Saturday as the Hawks collected their first victory of the season with a 6-1 triumph at High Point.  Fitzgibbon came on in the fifth and kept the Panthers at bay, including fanning the last three hitters he faced with two runners on in the seventh.
 
Fitzgibbon shared the honor with VCU's Zach Peters.
 
The Hawks return to action on Thursday night at Sacramento State.
