WASHINGTON – Saint Joseph's sophomore catcher Blake Primrose was named the Atlantic 10 Baseball Player of the Week for the second week in a row on Monday afternoon.

Primrose hit .500 for the week, collecting eight hits and scoring eight runs while driving in 13 as the Hawks posted another 4-0 week.  The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native hit four home runs and added two doubles for a .500 / .619 / 1.375 slash line and a stratospheric 1.994 OPS.

He went 1-for-2 with three walks and a home run on Wednesday as the Hawks topped Rider, 11-10, to book a trip to the Liberty Bell Classic championship game at Citizens Bank Park next week.  Over the weekend, he powered a three-game sweep at Dayton with three home runs, six runs scored, and 10 RBI in the series.  For the season, he leads the Atlantic 10 in home runs (13), runs scored (43), slugging percentage (.806), and OPS (1.281).

Primrose and the Hawks host Rutgers on Wednesday before George Mason comes to Hawk Hill for a three-game weekend series.
