MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team saw its eight-game winning streak halted on Wednesday as the Hawks fell to Rutgers by a score of 11-1 at Smithson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Rutgers (18-19) took the lead in the second inning on a solo home run by Gabriel Rivera. The Scarlet Knights then tacked on six more in the third to open up a seven-run lead.

• Saint Joseph's (23-12) got on the board in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run by
Joey Pagano.

• The visitors scored four more in the seventh and then retired the Hawks in the bottom of the frame to end the game.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Jason Masick allowed one hit in two and a third scoreless innings to earn the win for Rutgers, while
Peter Bashore took the loss for SJU.

Alex Kelsey collected two hits for the Hawks, while
Jason Janesko also reached base in two of his three plate appearances.
