Ajogbor Named to Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA – Justice Ajogbor of the Saint Joseph's men's basketball team has been named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area team as announced on Wednesday. It is the second consecutive season he has earned the honoe.
 
The team is nominated and voted on by the sports information offices of 30 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA.
 
Ajogbor was recognized for a season where he took the top spot as the NCAA Division I active leader in blocked shots and graduated with 260. He also moved into sixth all-time at St. Joe's with 163. He was 12th nationally with 77 rejections and was second in the A-10 in blocks per game. The Benin City, Nigeria native had 12 games this season with three or more swats. He also improved his offensive game, averaging 6.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest. In the final eight games of the season, he netted 11.3 points per game on 76.9 percent (40-for-52) shooting from the floor.

On top of what he did on the court, he has a 3.61 cumulative GPA as a graduate student studying applied investment analysis.
