WASHINGTON, D.C. - Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse earned eight Atlantic 10 postseason honors, highlighted by a pair of First Team selections, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore attackman
Ben Dutton and senior defenseman
Liam Quinn garnered First Team recognition, while senior attackman
Collin Campbell, graduate midfielder
Griffin Mallory, and junior long-stick midfielder
Michael Waite were named to the Second Team. Dutton, Quinn, and Mallory also earned All-Academic honors. Sophomores
Will Barber and
Jack Fiordalis, along with freshman
Colby Wood, were named to the All-Rookie Team.
Dutton put together a breakout sophomore campaign, starting all 11 games while leading the Hawks with 30 goals and 33 points. He ranked second in the Atlantic 10 in goals per game and sixth in points per game, including 21 goals in conference play. Dutton enters the postseason riding a 10-game goal streak and recorded seven hat tricks and nine multi-goal games on the year, scoring at least twice in every A-10 contest.
Quinn anchored the Hawks' defense en route to First Team honors, starting all 11 games. He led the team with 12 caused turnovers while adding 18 ground balls, and recorded at least one caused turnover in every conference game. Quinn's standout performances included a three-caused turnover, five-ground ball effort against High Point, and four conference games with multiple ground balls.
Campbell earned Second Team recognition after tallying 17 goals and 14 assists across 10 appearances, including seven starts. He ranked fourth in the A-10 in points per game and fifth in assists per game, leading the Hawks with 26 points in conference play (15G, 11A). Campbell posted five-point performances three times and recorded a career-high four goals against Richmond.
Mallory was a steady presence in the midfield, starting all 11 games while leading the team with 21 assists to go along with 10 goals. He ranked third in the conference in assists per game and ninth in points per game, registering assists in nine games and multiple helpers in each A-10 contest. Mallory highlighted his season with a five-assist outing against Hobart.
Waite made his impact as a key long-stick midfielder, appearing in all 11 games. He totaled seven caused turnovers and 16 ground balls while playing an important role on the wing for the faceoff unit. Waite recorded caused turnovers in multiple conference games and picked up a ground ball in all six A-10 contests.
Barber earned All-Rookie honors after scoring eight goals and adding five assists in 10 appearances, including four starts. A two-time A-10 Rookie of the Week, he recorded a hat trick against nationally ranked Villanova and posted points in five of six conference games.
Wood also earned All-Rookie recognition following an impressive freshman campaign that saw him score 18 goals from the midfield. He started eight games and registered hat tricks in each of the first three A-10 contests, finishing with goals in all six conference games.
Fiordalis rounded out the All-Rookie selections, appearing in all 11 games and contributing five goals and four assists. He recorded a point in five of six conference games, including a goal and an assist against UMass.
