Blake Primrose Named Atlantic 10 Baseball Player of the Week

4/6/2026 4:06:00 PM

WASHINGTON – Saint Joseph's catcher Blake Primrose was named the Atlantic 10 Baseball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Primrose was incandescent last week, hitting .563 across four games and posting a 1.963 OPS.  After going 1-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored in a midweek win over Lehigh that put the Hawks into the semifinals of the Liberty Bell Classic, Primrose battered Saint Louis for eight hits across three games.  He hit a home run in each contest, including a game-tying long ball in the seventh inning on Friday and a first-inning rocket to give the Hawks the lead they would not relinquish in the series finale on Saturday.  For the week, Primrose recorded nine hits, scored nine times, and drove in nine runs in helping lead the Hawks to a 4-0 week.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Primrose was named on Thursday to the midseason watch list for the Buster Posey Award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate catcher.

The Hawks return to action on Wednesday when they host Rider in the Liberty Bell Classic semifinals.
