ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Saint Joseph's men's basketball team has an early-season test when it competes against South Florida in the Veterans Classic at the U.S. Naval Academy on November 11. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.; the game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
"The Veterans Classic is always a special event," said St. Joe's head coach
Steve Donahue. "It gives our student-athletes a different perspective and a greater appreciation for the daily lives of those who serve our country. It is also an exciting opportunity for us to play a top-level opponent in South Florida. They have won their conference regular season title and won 25 games each in two of the last three seasons and also took Louisville to the final buzzer in the NCAA Tournament last season. This will be a great early-season challenge for our team."
Saint Joseph's is competing at the Veterans Classic for the second time, joining VCU (2014, 2024) and Temple (2015, 2023) as the only teams to appear multiple times in the 13-year event.
USF won the American Conference regular season title this past season with a 15-3 record and also went on to win the conference tournament. The Bulls fell to Louisville by the score of 83-79 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to end the season with an overall record of 25-9.
Tickets, which will go on sale at a later date, are $40 for reserved seating and $25 for general admission. Fans can express interest in tickets for the event by clicking
