Sweeney Field Expands Seathing for Lacrosse, Soccer

Longtime Saint Joseph’s University landmark Finnesey Field will be renamed Sweeney Field this fall upon completion of an extensive expansion project. The venue, which has served as the home of Hawk Athletic teams for more than 80-years, will recognize the contributions of Sean S. Sweeney ’94 (MBA), a member of the University’s Board of Trustees and the lead benefactor to the renovation project. photos | more>

Athletics Relaunches SJUHawks.com Website
SJU is pleased to announce the relaunch of SJUHawks.com, the official website for Saint Joseph’s athletics. In conjunction with its new technology partner, NeuLion, Inc., the redesigned SJUHawks.com has a clean appearance with user-friendly navigation, bringing videos, photos, and audiovisual content to the forefront. Fans will also find it easier to connect with Hawk teams and follow them through Facebook and Twitter. more>

Dear Fellow Hawk,

It's an exciting time here on Hawk Hill as classes began on Monday. We've come a long way since the first 36 students enrolled at the College in 1851.

Our fall teams have been back for several weeks. Women's soccer earned the prize as the first team to officially play a game, defeating Long Island last Friday.

Among the exciting changes that occurred on campus this summer was the expansion of Finnesey Field, which has been renamed Sweeney Field. Thank you to Sean Sweeney '94 (MBA) who served as the lead benefactor for the project.

We also are thrilled about the relaunch of the SJUHawks.com website. The multimedia site will provide even better access and information for our passionate fans.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Hawks. Please check out our teams' schedules and make plans to attend a few upcoming games.
