Field Hockey Holds Steady at 12th in NFHCA Coaches Poll

GILBERT, Ariz. ? The Saint Joseph's field hockey team held steady at #12 in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hawks won their lone contest over the weekend, routing Saint Francis, 7-2.? Tonya Botherway scored twice to bring her league-leading tally to 11 goals on the season, while both Kathrin Bentz and Pepa Serrano ? who leads the conference in both assists and points ? tallied a goal and two assists apiece.

Six of the Hawks' 2019 opponents are in this week's poll.? Rutgers moved up a spot to 18th, while Boston College jumped four spots to #13.? Both Delaware and Syracuse slipped one spot to 11th and 15th, respectively.

The Hawks will meet Michigan and North Carolina later this season; Michigan leapt up two spots to #9, while the Tar Heels remained a unanimous #1; UNC has topped each poll dating back to the preseason.

Saint Joseph's hits the road for a pair of key Atlantic 10 matchups this weekend as the Hawks visit VCU on Friday and Richmond on Sunday.
