PAUL PERDUE

A member of the Saint Joseph's University men's lacrosse staff since the sport began varsity play in 1993, Perdue begins his fifth year as the program's head coach. Perdue, who served as an associate head coach in 1997, is just the second head coach in the program's eight-year history. In his first year he compiled a 6-9 overall record, 4-3 in conference play. In 1999, the Hawks finished 7-8 and qualified for the ECAC playoffs. In just his third year, Perdue led the Hawks to a 12-4 record, including their first ever MAAC Conference Championship. In four years, Perdue has compiled an overall record of 30-30, including a record of 25-10 in conference play. A 1987 graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY-Oswego), Perdue has helped guide the Hawk lacrosse program from a club sport to its first-ever winning campaign, 8-6, in 1997. As a player, the 35-year-old Webster, N.Y. native was a four-year defensive starter for SUNY-Oswego, earning all-conference honors his junior and senior campaigns. He also served as co-captain his final two years at the school while earning team MVP honors in 1987. Perdue was selected to play in the 1995 North-South Club All-Star game in Baltimore, Md. Perdue, who received his Master's degree from Temple University in 1992, has worked in the communications field since his graduation from SUNY. Perdue currently resides in Narberth, PA.
