PHILADELPHIA (3/20/03) - The Saint Joseph's University's women's basketball team will host Atlantic 10 rival Richmond in a Women's National Invitation Tournament Second Round game at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse on Sunday at 2:00 PM. SJU defeated Delaware, 65-47, on Wednesday to advance, while the Spiders downed Georgetown, 79-65, on Thursday night. The Hawks defeated UR at the Robins Center, 63-50, on February 2. Click here for game notes, streaming audio. SJU's women are making their third WNIT appearance, advancing to the second round each time. They previously made the WNIT field in 1998 and 2002. Last year the Crimson and Gray defeated Siena in the opening round at the Fieldhouse, before falling to at Vermont in round two. A win over RIchmond would propel the Hawks into the WNIT's Elite 8 for the first time in school history. SJU would face either Auburn or Florida State on March 25-27.
