MULLAN JOINS MAAC MEN'S LACROSSE ACADEMIC TEAM

EDISON, NJ (05/02/03) - Junior attack Brian Mullan was named to the 2003 New York Lottery MAAC Men's Lacrosse All-Academic team, announced today by the league. He is the first Hawk to receive the honor since Phil Marchese in 2000. Mullan, the SJU NovaCare Athlete of the Month for March, is tied for the team lead in assists (19) and is second on the team in points (27). A finance major, Mullan sports a 3.38 grade point average. He joins Marchese (1999, 2000 and Chris McIsaac (1997, 1998) as the only Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse players to be named to the academic team. Saint Joseph's is seeded third in the MAAC Championships, which begin Friday at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.. First-seeded Mount St. Mary's takes on #4 Canisuis at 5:00 p.m. while SJU will meet #2 Providence at 7:30 p.m.
