HAWKS OPEN 2004 NCAA LACROSSE SEASON ON SATURDAY

PHILADELPHIA (2/9/04) -- Not only will the Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team open its schedule by hosting Delaware this Saturday, February 14, at 5 p.m., the Hawks will open the 2004 NCAA Division I slate with the game. The two local rivals are the only schools to open play this weekend. The Hawks are coming off a 6-9 season in which they advanced to the championship game of the MAAC. Head coach Paul Perdue returns all-MAAC defender Marc Reynolds to spear head one of the league's top defenses. Senior Brian Mullan led the team in scoring last year with 25 assists and 36 points. Delaware was 5-10 last season and defeated SJU 16-9 in the 2003 season opener.
