PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Pat Carroll scored 23 points on 6-for-10 shooting from 3-point range to lead Saint Joseph's past La Salle, 73-38, at The Palestra.

Saint Joseph's (7-6, 4-0 Atlantic 10) won its fourth consecutive game and extended its Philadelphia Big 5 winning streak to 10 games. The Hawks, who received 11 points and 13 rebounds from Dwayne Jones, led by as many as 36 points in the final minute.

Chet Stachitas and Dave Mallon contributed nine points each for Saint Joseph's.

Steven Smith and Mike St. John scored nine points apiece for the Explorers (5-9, 1-2). Smith shot 4 of 20 and failed to reach double figures in points for just the second time this season.

La Salle scored a season-low 38 points. Its previous low was 42 against George Washington on Jan. 5.

La Salle also scored its fewest points since a 36-point effort against Butler in 2000. The Explorers managed just 14 points in the first half on 6-of-30 shooting, 20 percent, and fell to 0-6 this season when scoring less than 60 points.
