Quick Start Leads Drexel Over Saint Joseph's, 14-8

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel (8-2) got off to a fast start, scoring the first six goals of the game, and then maintained that buffer, defeating Saint Joseph's (3-3), 14-8, on Finnesey Field. Freshman Lindsey-Kate McCool tallied three goals for the Hawks.

DU jumped out quickly as Jennifer Bonnini netted two of her five goals in the opening minutes. SJU. meanwhile, was held off the scoreboard until less than 10 minutes remained in the first half. McCool then sandwiched a pair of goals around a Kerry O'Connell goal to trim the lead in half, but the Dragons added a goal before intermission and led at the break, 7-3.

DU outscored the Hawks 7-5 in the second half to claim the victory.

Drexel outshot the Hawks, 30-28 and picked up 24 groundballs to 19 for SJU. Courtney Huff had 11 saves, while Drexel's Kristen Urian had nine stops.
