The Saint Joseph's Hawks played a hard-fought game down to the finish Friday night losing to Lehigh 12-11 in the last seconds. Junior Kristina Jaggers lead the come back charge for the Hawks with 5 goals and 1 assist for the day.
Saint Joseph's jumped out to an early lead as Kerry O'Connell scored a minute into the game off a pass from Colleen Ingelsby. This would be the last time the Hawks would have the lead however as Lehigh quickly answered back with a goal from Lissy King, assisted by Amy Chamberlain. The Mountain Hawks continued to dominate the first half, increasing their lead to 6-1 before the Hawks retaliated with a goal from Kristina Jaggers, assisted by Lindsey McCool at 8:24.
Lehigh would score two more goals with SJU adding two of their own from Kerry O'Connell, assisted by Kristina Jaggers, and Lindsey McCool to end the half 8-4.
The Hawks came out strong in the second half, as Kristina Jaggers scored five minutes into the second half to start the come back charge. Lindsey McCool and Suzanne Finley notched a goal a piece before the Mountain Hawks answered back with two goals of their own.
Saint Joseph's continued to close in on Lehigh's lead and was able to tie the game up 11-11 with 1:21 remaining in the game. Just when it looked like the game would be going into overtime, Lehigh was able to put one more in the net with 39 seconds remaining. St. Joe's was unable to get another shot off before time expired.

The Hawks return to action Sunday March 19th as they take on the Scarlet Knights at Rutgers. Game time is 1:00 pm.
