PHILADELPHIA - For the second consecutive outing, an Ivy League opponent proved to be too strong as Saint Joseph's (4-4) dropped a 7-0 decision to crosstown rival Penn (7-4) at Levy Pavilion. The Hawks lone victory of the afternoon came at first doubles where Antonio Aniello and Jimmy Holland teamed to earn the win.

The closest match of the day, Holland and Aniello beat Jason Pinsky and Joseph Lok 9-8(3).

Penn, however went on to take the remaining eight matches. Freshman Pat Adams was blanked 6-0, 6-0 at #2, Chris Spencer fell 6-4, 6-3 at #3, A.J. Garabedian was downed 6-4, 6-4 at #4, Aniello dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision at #5 and Philo Bayliss lost 6-4, 7-5 at #6.
