PHILADELPHIA -
The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team earned a 4-3 victory over crosstown and conference rival Temple on Tuesday at Finnesey Courts. The win ends a three-match losing skid and pushes the Hawks to 5-7 on the spring season.
Saint Joseph's and Temple split the six singles matches, with the Hawks winning at each of the first three flights. The Owls took the #4, #5, and #6 singles matches.
The Hawks earned the advantage by dominating the doubles half of the competition, winning all three matches to secure the difference-making point.
For SJU, junior Pat Adams, senior Phil Garabedian, and sophomore Nick Tuxen were winners at both singles and doubles.
The Hawks return to Finnesey Courts on Saturday for a matchup with Xavier.
