PHILADELPHIA—Freshman Meghan McDevitt (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) garnered Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week accolades for the week ending February 16.  McDevitt scored three goals and added an assist in SJU's opener at Lehigh on Saturday.

McDevitt, appearing in the Crimson and Gray for the first time, put together an impressive performance despite a 15-11 loss to the Mountain Hawks.  McDevitt scored a hat trick and tallied an assist in addition to picking up three ground balls and causing a turnover.

This is the first award of the year for McDevitt as well as the first conference recognition for the women's lacrosse team in 2009.

The Hawks return to action on Saturday when they take on the Leopards of Lafayette at 3:00 p.m. at Finnesey Field.   The game is the second half of a lacrosse doubleheader in which the men's team will take on Hobart at noon.
