Box Score
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
The Saint Joseph's softball team dropped a heart-breaking 3-2 game at Lehigh Sunday. The Hawks jumped out to a 2-0 edge, but three runs by the Mountian Hawks, including one in the bottom of the seventh was the difference.
The Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on RBI single by freshman Monica Aguilar as sophomore Laura Cardone came around to score.
SJU added to its lead in the top of the third with a sacrifice fly by junior Brooke Darreff, allowing Aguilar to tag and score from third.
In the bottom of the inning though, Lehigh touched up freshman Erin Gallagher for a pair of runs, tying the game at two all.
The score remained tied heading into the seventh. Following a scoreless top of the inning, Lehigh took advantage of two SJU errors, scoring the winning run with two outs on a fielding error by the Hawks' shortstop to end the game.
