MONROEVILLE, Pa. -
The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team lost to Charlotte on Saturday morning, 4-0, in the consolation bracket of the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship. SJU will face off with either Temple or Duquesne on Sunday morning in the seventh-place match.
The 49ers took the doubles point with relative ease before winning at third, fifth, and sixth singles to secure the shutout victory.
The bright spot for SJU was Matt Prusack, who won the first set at #5 singles before eventually falling in a tiebreaker in the third set. The Hawks led in the doubles match and all three singles matches that were not finished.
Saint Joseph's will end its run at the Championship on Sunday morning at 8:00. Win or lose, the Hawks will improve upon last season's finish, a tie for ninth.
