Hawks Fall to Drexel, 8-2

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team fell to Drexel, 8-2, on Wednesday evening. Sophomore Jen Peters notched two goals for the Hawks.

Drexel's Katie Lawson opened the scoring after a 14-minute scoreless battle in the first half. The Dragons added another goal at the 13:13 mark to take a 2-0 lead at the half.

Drexel opened the second half with a goal 18 seconds into the frame and scored five more goals before the Hawks got on the board. At the 15:56 mark freshman Gwen Nihill set Peters up for her first goal. Peters added her second goal with 17 minutes remaining in the half but neither team could gather anymore offense.

Freshman goalkeeper Alisha Aquilino made five saves in net for the Hawks.

SJU faces Wagner next in it's home opener on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
