DAYTON, Ohio -
Backed by another great pitching performance from sophomore Erin Gallagher and asecond-straight offensive outburst, the Saint Joseph's softball team swept its two-game series at Dayton with a 6-0 victory Saturday afternoon. The win boosts the Hawks to 3-3 in the Atlantic 10 and 17-12 overall.

Saint Joseph's offense plated four in the top of the fourth to take a lead it would never give up. Following a fly out, classmate Monica Aguilar drilled her fourth home run of the season to put the Hawks up 2-0.
After a strikeout, freshman Deanna Stinner took Eva Rappe deep for the second time in the inning, upping SJU's lead to 3-0. The Hawks added their fourth run on a RBI single by sophomore Alaina Loguidice, scoring junior Taylor Korpita all the way from first.
The power surge continued in the top of the fifth as senior Brooke Darreff smacked her fourth home run of the season, scoring Moran on the play to give Saint Joseph's a 6-0 advantage.
Dayton would get no closer as freshman reliever allowed just one hit while striking out three over the final two innings to preserve the Hawks' win.
Individually, Stinner went 2-for-3 with a RBI, while Aguilar finished 2-for-4 with two RBI.
