Men's Lacrosse Places Nine on 2009-10 MAAC Academic Honor Roll

Edison, N.J. - The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team had nine student-athletes honored for their achievements both academically and athletically as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced the 2009-10 MAAC Academic Honor Roll on Tuesday.

Senior Peter Slowik, an accounting major, posted the highest gpa (3.78) on the team. Slowik was also named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for the third consecutive year and to the 2010 Philadelphia Inquirer Men's Lacrosse Academic All-Area Team.

Juniors joining Slowik on the honor roll were Pat Carrigan and Keith Belson while six sophomores including, Trevor Dougherty, Bobby Hurley, Griffin Ferrigan, Chris Jenkins, Matt Dougherty, and Mike Begg were also honored for their academic success.

To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, an athlete must hold a grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be in his or her second year of athletic eligibility. The Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members of the MAAC with athletes represented in all 24 sports that the conference sponsors.
