PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team dropped an 11-10 heartbreaker to Old Dominion on Saturday afternoon at Finnesey Field. Junior Jen Peters led the Hawks' scoring with four goals.

Peters put the Hawks on the board first and scored again after an ODU goal. The Monarchs tied it up again, 2-2, but Saint Joseph's went on a 3-0 run with two free-position goals from Grace Dinn and a goal from Gwen Nihill to take a 5-2 lead with 20:05 left in the first half.

Old Dominion tallied another goal and the Hawks answered back, but the Monarchs went on a 6-0 run going into the second half, to take a 9-6 lead with 21:40 remaining in the game.

The Hawks fought their way back from the three-goal deficit, outscoring the Monarchs 4-1 over the next 17:37 to knot the game at 10-10. Peters scored the game-tying goal with 3:57 remaining in the game, but Old Dominion maintained possession of the ball and scored with 21 seconds on the clock to take the win.

Dinn and Meghan McDevitt each finished with two goals and two assists, while goalkeeper Kaitlin LaBarbera made nine saves in net for the Hawks.

Saint Joseph's returns to action when it plays at Delaware on Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. faceoff.
