The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team fell to Rutgers, 11-1, on Saturday afternoon at Finnesey Field. Hawks' goalkeeper Chris Moffa made a career-high 12 saves in net.
Rutgers went up 3-0, before Kyle Williams sent a pass to Scott Cullinan, who scored the Hawks lone goal of the game with three seconds remaining in the first quarter, to make it 3-1.
The Scarlet Knights didn't allow SJU a single shot in the second period, while firing 18 towards Moffa, who made six saves in the frame. Rutgers tallied three goals in the period for a 6-1 halftime score.
In the second half Rutgers outshot SJU, 19-10, and put the game out of reach with another five goals.
Duncan Clancy led the Scarlet Knights with two goals and three assists, while Kory Kelly also added two goals.
Saint Joseph's returns to action when it plays at Drexel on Wednesday. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. on Vidas Field.
