The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team fell to Duquesne, 14-5, on Sunday afternoon at Rooney Field. Grace Dinn tallied three goals and two assists for the Hawks.
Duquesne jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first 13:39, with two goals from Dukes' Meredith Dunn, who scored five goals and an assist in the game. The Hawks outscored Duquesne, 3-2, in the remainder of the first half to close the deficit to two, 5-3.
The Dukes netted a goal just 31 seconds into the second half before Dinn scored her second goal off a pass from Alana Glanell. Duquense went on to score six straight to lead 12-4 with 6:55 to go. Dinn found the back of the net at 5:57, but the Dukes held SJU off and added two more goals in the remaining minutes.
Duquesne outshot the Hawks, 34-14, and had a 16-5 advantage in draw controls in the game.
Kaitlin LaBarbera made nine saves in net for the Hawks.
Saint Joseph's returns to action on Friday when it plays Richmond on the road. The first draw is set for 4:00 p.m.
