Backed by a pair of goals from sophomore Mo Hawkins, the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team topped NJIT, 2-0, Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Lauren Jancuska made one save for the win in net as the Hawks extended their win streak to five games.
Hawkins gave SJU a 1-0 lead at 22:26 as she beat a NJIT defender and blasted a shot from 15 yards out into the back of the netting.
Hawkins added her second goal off a lead pass into the box from classmate Morgan Duffy into the NJIT box and found an open net from five yards out to put Saint Joseph's ahead for good, 2-0.
Jancuska made one save in the first half for the victory, while the Hawk defense limited NJIT to no second half shots on net.
