Women's Lacrosse Falls to Old Dominion, 10-4

Norfolk, Va. - The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team fell to Old Dominion, 10-4, on Saturday afternoon at Rooney Field. Grace Dinn tallied two goals for the Hawks.

Old Dominion jumped out to an early one-goal lead before Dinn tied the game at 1-1 with 22:33 to play in the first. In a matter of 60 seconds, the Monarchs exploded for three goals in the 20th minute to make the score 4-1. The teams would trade shots for the remaining 20 minutes of the first but neither could find the back of the net.

The Hawks opened the second half with goals by Dinn (27:03) and Jen Peters (26:43) to close the gap, 4-3. After a 10-minute drought, Old Dominion went on a five-goal stretch to make the score 9-3 and put the game out of reach for the Hawks. Gwen Nihill would add SJU's final goal at 8:07 as the Monarchs added one more to finalize the score, 10-4.

Old Dominion outshot Saint Joseph's, 21-17, and held an advantage in draw controls, 10-6.

Alisha Aquilino made 10 saves between the pipes for the Hawks.

Saint Joseph's will return to action on Wednesday when it travels to Rutgers. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
