PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team lost to No. 2 Massachusetts on Saturday afternoon, 15-3, in Amherst, Mass. A pair of fourth quarter goals by Augustus Quinzani got the Hawks on the board against a tough Minutemen team.

The Minutemen opened up the first with five goals from five different players as the Hawks were held scoreless. SJU's defense came out in the second for their best quarter allowing just two goals on seven shots. Despite firing 10 shots in the second, Saint Joseph's was held scoreless as the first half ended, 7-0.

Massachusetts went on to match their first quarter total with five goals in the third frame to take a 12-goal lead into the fourth. The minutemen added three more before the Hawks got on the board with two man-up goals from Quinzani as each were assisted by Ryan McGee. McGee went on to add the final goal of the contest with 2:12 remaining.

Griffin Ferrigan took the loss between the pipes making 10 saves for SJU.

Massachusetts outshot the Hawks, 40-33, and held the advantage in face-offs, 14-4.

Saint Joseph's will return to action on Saturday when it travels to Hofstra to take on the Pride. The first face-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
