Final Stats

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's Grace Dinn scored five goals against St. Bonaventure on Friday to lead the Hawks in a 17-11 victory over the Bonnies. Seniors Meghan McDevitt and Jen Peters also score five points on the afternoon.

St. Bonaventure came out scoring, building a 4-2 lead in the first 12 minutes of play. After McDevitt's first goal, Peter's made an outstanding play to take the ball from the goalkeeper and buried her first goal to tie the game at 4-4. Goals by Val Paolucci and Carly Kindbom helped build a lead as SJU did not look back. After a Bonnies goal, Peters and Julia Falcone closed out the half with a goal each to take an 8-5 advantage into the break.

Carrying the momentum, Saint Joseph's came out in the second half with seven straight goals to build a ten-goal lead. Both teams would trade two more before a late four-goal spurt was not enough to mount a comeback for St. Bonaventure as the score stood, 17-11, at the final horn.

Saint Joseph's outshot the Bonnies, 29-24, and controlled 20 draws to St. Bonaventure's 10. The Hawks were a perfect 3-for-3 on free position shots.

Danielle Drabin led the Bonnies with six goals as Mackenzie Jordan added two of her own.

Alisha Aquilino picked up the win in net for SJU making eight saves. Sara Schlagenhauf got the loss making five saves as Karly Kocis relieved her in the second to make four.

In the win, Saint Joseph's matched its season-high 17 goals, which was scored against Presbyterian (Mar. 7).

The Hawks will return to action on Sunday when they host Duquesne for Senior Day. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
