The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team fell to Temple on Thursday, dropping the match to its local rival by a 6-1 score at the SJU Tennis Complex. Freshman Pierre Brondeau was a winner for the Hawks, taking his sixth-flight singles match in straight sets.
Brondeau toppled Hernan Vasconez, 6-3, 6-4, to earn the lone point for the Hawks. Senior Peter Cognetti and junior Alex Veronis teamed up for a win in the third doubles flight, taking the bout in a tiebreaker.
The Hawks will hit the road for their final three matches before the Atlantic 10 Championship, heading to Niagara and St. Bonaventure for matches on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, before finishing the slate at Lafayette on Tuesday.
