Hawks Fall to Fordham In Atlantic 10 Softball Championships, 4-1

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The sixth-seeded Saint Joseph's softball team fell to second-seed Fordham, 4-1, Thursday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center. The Hawks will face Charlotte in a must-win situation at 7 p.m. EST.

Fordham (32-24) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a two-run home run by Chelsea Palumbo off Saint Joseph's junior Taryn Ashway. . The Hawks (21-28-1) cut the deficit to 2-1 in the top of the fifth as junior center fielder Dana Parks scored from second with two outs on a RBI single up the middle by freshman catcher Lauren Rendon.

Fordham added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth as Paige Ortiz hit a two-run home run that was barely inside the foul pole in left field to make it 4-1.
