The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team continued its strong play Tuesday as the Hawks downed Bucknell, 6-1, for their seventh straight win of the season. The Hawks won all three doubles matches and took five of six singles matches from the Bison to improved to 8-8 on the season.
Opening with doubles play, the Hawks dominated winning all three matches by a combined score of 24-9. At the top flight, Casey Robinson and Aurora Davis were 8-2 winners, while Kristina Eisenbrand and Lauren Roy followed with an 8-4 victory at the second flight. The duo of Devi Jadeja and Kelly Mulquin capped the doubles matches with an 8-3 victory at the third flight.
Leading 1-0, Saint Joseph's would quickly put the match away as it won the top five flights. Jadeja claimed the first point with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the fourth flight as Robinson added a 6-0, 6-1 win at the top flight to make it a 3-0 edge in favor of the Hawks.
Davis capped the win with a 6-2, 6-4 win at the second flight, while Eisenbrand and Mulquin finished with wins at the third and fifth flights, respectively. Eisenbrand was a 7-5, 6-3 winner, while Mulquin earned SJU's sixth point with a 6-0, 6-4 decision.
The Hawks return to action this Thursday at Drexel.
