Joining the Saint Joseph's coaching staff in 2005-06 is former Hawk standout Francisco Velazquez. The all-time winningest player in program history at both singles (64) and doubles (67), the 2005 SJU grad is the only Hawk to be named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team four times.
As a senior , he posted an impressive 24-12 doubles mark while teaming with current Hawk senior A.J. Garabedian. The duo won the "A" FLight at the Swarthmore Invitational, reached the final of the Princeton Invitational, advanced to the Round of 16 at the ITA Championships and the Round of 16 in teh back draw at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship.
A native of Seroe Patrishi, Aruba, he competed on Aruba's National Touring team for four years and was selected for the pre-2004 Olympics training program. A four-time Aruba men's tennis champion.
Velazquez is currently completing his Master's degree in interdisciplinary health services.
