Returning for her second season at Saint Joseph's after a stellar four-year career is 2009 graduate Mary Kate McDade. Serving as a graduate assistant, she will be responsible for film exchange and video breakdown.
A four-year letterwinner, McDade consistently improved for the Hawks over every season, becoming one of the top point guards in the Atlantic 10 by her senior year.
Ranking seventh all-time in program history with 385 career assists, McDade finished fifth in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.35) in 2008-09 and helped SJU to its first Big 5 title since 2001. The Hawks made two WNIT appearances and won three in-season tournaments during her playing tenure, as McDade went on to earn the Big 5 Sportsmanship Award, All-Academic Team accolades and SJU's MVP award as a senior.
The 2005 Gatorade Pennsylvania Girls Basketball Player of the Year, McDade was a four-year starter at Nazareth Academy, earning both McDonald's All-American and Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-American nominations.
McDade earned a bachelor's degree in marketing in May 2009, and is working towards a graduate degree in elementary education.
