Softball's Parks Named An ECAC All-Star

July 8, 2013

PHILADELPHIA - One of the top players in Saint Joseph's softball history, recent graduate Dana Parks added a final honor to her resume as the four-year starter was selected to the ECAC All-Star Second Team, organization officials announced last week.

Starting all 48 games in centerfield this season, Parks earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honors as she led SJU with a .385 batting averaged and set the single-season record for stolen bases with 26. Leading the Hawks to the A-10 Championship game for the second time in three years, she collected five hits in the final day of the tournament as she was named to the All-Tournament Team. Boasting a 1.000 fielding percentage, Parks additionally posted a team-high 32 runs scored and 65 hits, while driving in 12 runs.

A four-year starter and multiple A-10 All-Academic Team honoree, the Vineland, N.J. native capped her career with 231 hits, good for second all-time in program history. Graduating with a degree in marketing this past May, Parks was also named Philadelphia Inquirer Softball Academic All-Area Performer of the Year as she helped lead the Hawks to their first regular season Atlantic 10 title.

Parks is the ninth Hawk to earn ECAC honors and third under head coach Terri Adams.
