PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's University Department of Athletics is hosting a Hawks Versus Cancer event this Saturday in conjunction with the men's and women's soccer doubleheader at Sweeney Field beginning at 5 p.m.
Working with the student-run organization Hawks Versus Cancer, Saint Joseph's will be selling merchandise and concessions, holding a 50/50 raffle and taking donations during both games on Saturday. Money collected from Saturday's event will be donated to Team BamIt, a nonprofit organization established to help women and their families affected by cervical cancer. Team BamIt was created in part by former SJU women's soccer player Taylor Mallory in honor of her sister Margo, who passed away last year from the disease.
Saturday's games are set to begin at 5 p.m. with the men's soccer team hosting Cornell, followed by the women's team facing Hofstra at 7:30 p.m.
