PHILADELPHIA - Due to the snow storm that has struck much of the East Coast, the Saint Joseph's softball team's season-opening games at the Longwood Lancer Leadoff Tournament have been canceled.
The Hawks, who were picked to finish tied for second in the Atlantic 10 in the conference's Preseason Poll, was expected to face Bucknell, Longwood and Georgetown beginning on Saturday, but the games will now go unplayed.
Saint Joseph's, which captured the A-10's regular season crown in 2013, will open its season next weekend, February 22-23 at the Elon Phoenix Opening Tournament. The Hawks will face Niagara at 10 a.m. next Saturday in the first of four tournament games.
