RICHMOND, Va. - The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team begins defense of its Atlantic 10 title as the Hawks open A-10 Championship play this Thursday. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. with the fifth seeded Hawks facing either 12th seeded George Mason or 13th seed Massachusetts.
Opening Round and Quarterfinal games will be video streamed for free on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network.

• Saint Josephʼs begin the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship as the fifth seed after going
10-6 in conference play.
• The Hawks and Duquesne finished tied, but Saint Josephʼs earned the higher seed as it won the regular season meeting, 61-59, on February 18 at Hagan Arena.
• This year marks the fifth time the Hawks have earned the fifth seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship. Saint Josephʼs previously earned the fifth seed in 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2012, advancing to the semifinals in 2006 and 2012, and the title game in 2007.
• Saint Josephʼs enters this yearʼs conference tournament as the reigning A-10 champs.
• The Hawks went 3-0 last year as the fourth seed, topping Duquesne and Dayton, before besting Fordham, 47-46, in the A-10 Championship game at the Barclays Center.
• Saint Josephʼs will face either 12th seed George Mason or 13th seed Massachusetts on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Opening Round.
• The Hawks topped the Patriots (89-75 on Feb. 15) and Massachusetts (85-51 on Feb. 27) this season, with SJU 5-1 all-time versus George Mason and 46-9 against UMass.
• Should Saint Josephʼs win on Thursday it will face fourth seed George Washington at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in the Quarterfinals. The Hawks and Colonials split their two games this year, with each collecting road wins.
• Advancing to the Semifinals, the Hawks will play at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with the game being televised on the CBS Sports Network.
• The 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship Game will air on ESPNU at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
