Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – Junior forward Emmanuel Temeh scored the equalizing goal with 56.8 seconds remaining in regulation and the match-winner in the 104th minute to lead the Saint Joseph's men's soccer team to a 4-3 double-overtime victory over LIU Brooklyn at LIU Field on Sunday afternoon. Freshman goalkeeper Bobby Edwards additionally made four saves and blanked the Blackbirds offense in the final 58:21 and started the offensive play that would lead to the equalizer.
The Hawks now stand at 2-1-1 as the victory marks the first time since 2002 that the Hawks have won their first road match of the season.
"This match was an emotional roller coaster ride," said head coach Don D'Ambra after the win. "We gave up three goals in the first half, which was our worst defensive start of a match all season. At halftime, we were able to regroup and focus on just getting one goal. We felt that if we could get one goal that the equalizing goal would follow. I'm so proud of the boys for not quitting and continuing to push until the end. They learned a valuable lesson today and we were able to get three points out of it."
Trailing 3-1 entering the second half, the Hawks earned four corner kicks and took two shots in the opening 6:27 to completely change the momentum of the match.
LIU Brooklyn's Nahuel Medina fired off back-to-back shots on Edwards, who entered the match at the start of the second half, but the rookie netminder made a pair of saves to keep the Hawks to within two goals.

Junior midfielder Tim Lazorko launched a ball right in front of the net, and Nelson tucked the ball past Keys to pull the Hawks to within one goal, 3-2, in the 78th minute of play.
LIU Brooklyn's Brice Merwine, who scored twice for the Blackbirds in the first half of play, attempted a shot on goal in the 86th minute, but Edwards would once again come up with a crucial save.
After an offside call against LIU Brooklyn in the 89th minute, the Hawks pushed upfield for their final chance at tying the match. Edwards launched a pass toward the left side of the box, and sophomore midfielder Sam Irvin headed a pass to Temeh. Temeh gained control of the pass and, from the top corner of the box, scored to equalize the score, 3-3, and to eventually send the match into overtime.
