LYNCHBURG, Va. - Saint Joseph's Claire Minnoe and Alex Zachem continued play on Friday at the ITA Atlantic Regionals at Liberty University.

In the first round of the singles draw, Minnoe faced eighth seed Lolade Ogungbesan from Pittsburgh. Putting forth a strong fight and good poise, Minnoe battled Ogungbesan, but eventually fell, 7-5, 6-4.

Minnoe will face Maryland's Kristina Hovespyan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the consolation draw.

In the second round of the doubles bracket, Minnoe and Alex Zachem faced sixth seed Olga Barshcheuskaya and Anna Rasmussen of VCU. Playing one of the best tandems in the region, Minnoe and Zachem had a strong showing in their return game, but the higher-seeds from VCU prevailed, 8-1.

Minnoe and Zachem cap their doubles play with a 1-1 mark after winning in Thursday's opening round.
