Bembry, who was scoreless in the first half, netted eight straight points in the first 75 seconds of the second half to give the Hawks a 42-31 lead. SJU led by as much as 24 points in the game.

TOURNAMENT TIME: This is the second game of the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off for the Hawks. SJU continues play by traveling to Mohegan Sun Arena on the weekend where it will face Florida on Nov. 21. The winner of that game will meet the Old Dominion/Purdue winner in the championship on Nov. 22 at 5:30 p.m. while the losers will play in the consolation game at noon.

HIGH-SCORING HAWKS: The Hawks have scored more than 70 points in their first two games, with a high of 82 vs. Drexel. Last season, SJU surpassed the 70-point mark only six times in 31 games.

BOOK ON BEMBRY: DeAndre' Bembry has picked up where he left off, leading the Hawks. The junior opened the year with a game-high 23 points in the win over Drexel, hitting 6-of-12 from the field and tying his career-high with 11 free throws made (in 15 attempts). Bembry followed that with 12 points, six rebounds and seven assists vs. Niagara.

BALANCED ATTACK: Saint Joseph's has had four players score double fig-ures in each of the first two games. It's the same foursome - DeAndre' Bembry, Isaiah Miles, Aaron Brown and Pierfrancesco Oliva - in both games.

VIVA ITALIA: Freshman Pierfrancesco Oliva gave a glimpse of things to come with his performance against Drexel - 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and three blocks. Oliva hit a three-pointer with 2:34 to play to give the Hawks a 12-point cushion that they would need. He followed that with 12 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in the Niagara win.

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU: Senior Aaron Brown has posted back-to-back double-figure games as a starter. Brown made the fourth start of his SJU career against Drexel and responded with 15 points on 5-for-10 shooting, and followed that with 14 vs. Niagara. Brown served primarily as the Hawks' “sixth man” last season and was the team's third leading scorer with 9.3 points per game.

RACKING UP THE MILES: Senior Isaiah Miles has put together two straight games of double figures, including the second double-double of his career with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the Drexel win. The team's second leading scorer last year, Miles now tops the team in blocked shots with 3.0 per game and is scoring 13.5 points per game.

ON THE LINE: SJU has converted over 70 percent from the line in both games this year. Last year, the team struggled at the foul line, converting 61.5 percent of its free throw attempts. Aaron Brown has made all eight of his free throws thus far.

FROM THE START: Pierfrancesco Oliva became the third freshman in three years to own a spot in the starting lineup on opening day. DeAndre' Bembry started all 34 games as a freshman for the Hawks in 2014-15 while James Demery was in the starting lineup last season.
