CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 result at Charlotte on Saturday at the Charlotte Indoor Tennis Club. The final score was not indicative of the run of play, as three of the six singles matches went to three sets or a super tiebreaker.
Charlotte (7-2) earned the doubles point with wins in the first two flights, but seniors Pierre Brondeau and Mike Fallone went on to earn a 6-3 win in the third flight.
Saint Joseph's (5-3) earned a point with a win in the top singles flight as junior Renier Moolman defeated Vikram Hundal, 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 (STB). Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, a pair of straight-sets wins in the third, fifth, and sixth flights clinched the match victory for the 49ers.
The Hawks will finish their trip to North Carolina with a match at conference foe Davidson on Sunday.
