MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team ended its home slate with a 5-2 win over Chestnut Hill at the SJU Tennis Complex on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks won the doubles point and sealed the victory with a sweep of the top three singles flights.
Kyle Chalmers and Andres Urrea were winners in the first doubles flight, taking an 8-4 result, before Pierre Brondeau and Mike Fallone combined for an 8-7 (1) victory in the third to clinch the first point of the day.
Brondeau then earned a singles point with a 6-4, 7-6 (3) win over Lucas Bocaletto in the first flight. Chalmers dominated Steven Say, 6-2, 6-0, in the second, before Urrea's 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Pedro Regalin in the third locked up the win.
Peter Dewitt added a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the sixth flight to finish off the singles slate.
The Hawks will close out the regular season at Villanova on April 21 before the Atlantic 10 Championship begins in April 23.
