Softball Falls At Fordham, 4-0

BRONX, N.Y. - The Saint Joseph's softball team fell at Fordham, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at Bahoshy Field.

Fordham scored a run in the first against SJU starter Anna Lauterbach and added a second run in the bottom of the fifth to push the lead to 2-0.

Saint Joseph's (21-15, 6-8 A-10) got a leadoff single from Madeline Brunck to start the sixth, but couldn't get her past second as the Rams cut the Hawks' threat short.

Fordham added two insurance runs in the sixth for the eventual 4-0 win.

In the circle, Lauterbach allowed four runs on four hits, while striking out one. She fell to 1-4 on the season.

At the plate, Brunck and Nikki Alden accounted for SJU's two hits.

The Hawks return to action Wednesday at La Salle. Game one of a doubleheader is set for a 3 p.m. start.
