MERION STATION, Pa. - Sophomore Maureen Devlin captured the Second Singles Flight title and junior Claire Minnoe won the First Singles Consolation title to cap this weekend's Saint Joseph's Women's Tennis Invitational.

Opening in the semifinals versus George Washington's Victoria Kogan, Devlin posted a 6-4, 7-5 victory to earn a spot in the finals. 

Facing Norfolk State's Liza Gordeeva, Devlin fell behind after dropping the first set 2-6. But the SJU sophomore bounced back for a 6-4 victory in the second set and took the match 10-6 in the breaker.

In the First Flight Consolation finals, Minnoe and teammate Kristina Eisenbrand met for the bracket title. In the matchup between two Hawks, it was Minnoe who came out on top, earning a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Eisenbrand.

In other singles action, Arianne Polatnick fell to Emily Hughes, 6-2, 6-1, in the semifinals of the Second Flight Consolation draw, while both Sarah Contrata and Anne Marie Devlin fell in the semifinals of the Third Flight Consolation draw. Contrata fell to eventual champ Sara Komer, 6-2, 6-1, while Devlin fell to Bucknell's Melissa Parks, 6-4, 6-1.

In the Fourth Flight semifinals, Robyn Ferraro dropped her match to Delaware's Draga Sabotic, 6-0, 6-0, while in the Consolation bracket, Maddie Graziani dropped a hard-fought match to eventual champion Egle Jakuciunaite.

Minnoe and Alex Zachem wrapped up the tournament in the First Doubles consolation draw as the Hawk pair fell to Norfolk State's Gordeeva and Cvjetkovic, 8-5.

Saint Joseph's returns to action at the Villanova Invitational on October 2.
