MERION STATION, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team dropped a match to Atlantic 10 rival Davidson, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats opened the match with wins at all three doubles flights to take the first point of the match.
Switching to singles play, the Hawks put up a strong battle, but Davidson was able to win three matches, with the other three going unfinished.
"Davidson proved too solid in every position, and though we had game efforts in all positions, they clinched the match without the Hawks being able to put a win on the board," said SJU head coach Ian Crookenden. "Claire Minnoe's fight at number one showed she is able to hold her own with the best players in the conference and she is gaining more and more confidence with every match."
The Hawks (3-7) return to action on Wednesday at Delaware at 3:30 p.m.
