PHILADELPHIA - Senior Sarah Contrata earned a win at No. 6 singles, but the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team dropped its match at Drexel, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon.
Starting in doubles, seniors Claire Minnoe and Alex Zachem teamed for a 7-6 (2) win at the top flight, but Drexel pulled out the first point with wins at the other two flights.
Facing the Dragon's Ryshena Providence, Contrata posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory to earn SJU's point in singles. The Dragons took the other five matches to earn the team win.
The Hawks (4-10) are back in action on Friday when they host Fordham.
