Women's Soccer Ranked Eighth In USC East Region Poll

For the third consecutive week, the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team is ranked in the United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll as the Hawks are ranked eighth this week, organization officials announced on Tuesday.

Saint Joseph's is coming off a 1-1-0 week that saw the Hawks top James Madison, 2-1, on Thursday behind a game-winning penalty conversion by Dakota Mills in the 84th minute. Opening a five-game road swing this past Sunday at Pitt, the Hawks had their two-game win streak snapped as they fell to the Panthers, 2-0, to move to 3-2-1 on the year.

This week, SJU is one of four Atlantic 10 teams to earn regional recognition as it joins VCU (fifth), Saint Louis (seventh) and Massachusetts (10th).

The Hawks are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Columbia for a 7 p.m. match with the Lions.
